Canoe Polo in Mullingar!
Canoe Polo is an exciting team sport, like water polo but played in kayaks. Our club plays in Mullingar Harbour and welcomes beginners aged 9 upwards.
Getting Started
We welcome beginners age 9 upwards during the summer months. Our coaches keep things fun and teach the basics of kayaking, passing the ball and of course scoring goals! Our club provides all equipment, you just need to be confident in water, ready to have fun and get a little wet. This video shows the first day on the water for some of our young beginners.
Our Club
We are a not for profit club run by volunteers and affiliated with Canoeing Ireland. Our members come from Mullingar and surrounding areas. We also work with local and national groups. Our Girls On Water Canoe Polo programme for teenage girls is run in partnership with Westmeath Sports Partnership. We also host national development days for juniors from other clubs around Ireland and run the national annual training camp for juniors – ‘Overload!’
